The Baltic Air Charter Association is a British professional body representing air charter brokers and airlines. It was founded in 1949 as an adjunct to the ancient Baltic Exchange shipping association, and is based at the Baltic Exchange building, in the heart of the financial district of the City of London.
The membership represents only established and professional organisations and, to be elected, they have to satisfy the Council that they are qualified to operate with integrity and honesty. Its motto is 'My word, my bond', and clients of the member companies are free to contact the Association should they have any complaints or grievances regarding the conduct of its members. Thus, membership of BACA represents a seal of quality and an assurance of fair and honest trading.
Skyline Aviation is proud to have been elected as a member in June 1992, and strives to uphold the traditions, and responsibilities that are expected of the membership.
In 2004, Skyline Aviation Managing Director, Dick Gilbert, was honoured to be elected on to the Council of BACA, and in 2009 was appointed as their Chairman.
In 2006, BACA inaugurated its 'Excellence Awards' for various facets of the industry, and Skyline Aviation is delighted to have sponsored the 'Airport of the Year' category, won in 2008 and 2009 by TAG Farnborough Airport.
