ANTONOV AN-12 AIRCRAFT BACK IN UAE

Antonov An-12s are making a comeback in the UAE. The aircraft type were banned in the UAE since the 8th January 2009. Recently the Civil Aviation Authority lifted the ban on those aircraft who were approved by the Antonov Design Bureau and passed a stringent maintenance check. Several aircraft applied for the permit to operate in the UAE, and the first few have now been approved. This will come as a huge relief to local companies and agencies who have always found the An-12 to be the workhorse of the region.
